Welcome! My name is Nova. I am a specialty barista based in West Sussex, on a mission to create positive change through my love of great coffee.
In my time with coffee, I have seen and learned about the dark sides of the industry, however, have also been fortunate enough to experience the power it holds to empower people and communities.
This is root of how Violet came to be. I want to use coffee to support community, sustainability, art projects and carry my core values into a responsible and inspiring coffee roaster.
Coffee is an industry with a challenging but essential path ahead - towards community, responsibility, and balance of power along the production line.

Responsible
Roasters have an obligation shift power back up the production chain. I aim to pay fairer prices to farmers and producers, and stand firmly in the way of physical and economic slavery in the coffee industry.
Traceable
Every lot of coffee has a story. I think it is paramount that this is brought to the consumer - I will provide extensive information about the coffee I source and its journey from the plant to your brew.
Transparent
Customers deserve to know what their money is supporting; I will issue reports on where profits go and the projects that are being supported.
Community Focused
I have been inspired by the power coffee has to support community. I am setting out to use profits to support local art projects, sustainability projects and support developing coffee professionals on their journey.
Expressive and Inspiring
Coffee is also personal. My journey with specialty coffee was inspired by its diversity of flavour and how it has allowed me to express myself. I want to showcase what coffee can be by providing a diverse range of coffee styles from around the world and giving you the knowledge and power to enjoy brewing them and making them your own.
Delicious
No compromise should ever be made on quality. I will source excellent coffees and roast with care on a small scale to order, to provide you with memorable coffee experiences delivered fresh.
